Full Moon in Leo 2026
Full Moon in Leo
Gray, cloudy skies are hard for me. I feel in many ways like a Sunflower that needs sunlight to thrive. Miami is a Leo city so it’s interesting to see that the upcoming Full Moon is teaching us how to handle cloudy skies in our lives.
When the skies are dark. When you are not in the mood to do anything. When life feels heavy and hard. We can connect to the Light within. There is a Sun that shines at the core of your being. The Sun in the heart, shines out onto the world through a smile, a kind gesture and a peaceful word. The invitation when we encounter the gradients grays of life is to find the Light that creates rainbows within our own selves.
On February 1st, 2026 we have a Full Moon in the sign of Leo. Leo is ruled by the Sun. Both the Sun and Leo teach us to connect to our own heart, the place where the Light of Spirit shines onto the world.
A Full Moon is a time of culmination. It is a time of reflection. A time when we have come to harvest the seeds planted during the last New Moon in Leo. Think back to August 2024, when we had the New Moon in Leo at 12 degrees and 34 minutes. What were your desires, dreams and goals then? What was falling apart and what were you building or creating in your life? What were the spiritual lessons then and now? The seeds planted back in August 2024 are now growing and will continue to grow in your life all the way to the next New Moon in Leo which takes place on 8/2/2027 at 9 degrees Leo 54 min. Notice what needs reaping and what needs to be planted or replanted in your life. Reflect. Analyze. Review and decide. This is the time to pay attention to cause and effect in your life.
The Full Moon illuminates the areas of our lives that are in darkness, confusion, loss or no longer serve a Higher Purpose. The Light of the Sun shines on the Moon and our bodies, our emotions and our consciousness receive downloads of insights, dreams and Divine guidance that supports us to see where the path can be realigned. If you have lost your way, this Full Moon has the potential to find you and set you on the course that is best for your Soul. We are becoming enlighten, aware and conscious to the changes we need to make in our lives. Pay attention to what is illuminated and what is brought forth into Light during this next 30 days.
Leo is the sign of the Lion. Leo is a fixed fire sign. Fixed signs are stubborn, intense, proud and persistent. Fire signs are passionate, creative, intuitive, impulsive and high energy. Leo is ruled by the Sun. The Sun feels at home in the sign of Leo. Leo is the sign of the King and Queen. They crave attention and thrive on drama. They are magnanimous, self-assured, playful, warm, bold and expressive. This Full Moon can help us explore and express Leo themes in our lives.
Leo is the actor and actress of the Zodiac wheel. It is highly creative and thrives on being on some sort of stage. Leo can teaches to connect to our inner creative self. Explore your creativity. What are your natural talents and what are you doing with them? Leo is a proud sign. It can teach us to be more confident and believe in ourselves. Notice the state of your self-esteem. Does it need improvement? This would be a great opportunity to learn to shine brighter than you have ever before.
Leo also teaches us how to express our Light. Find your Light. Get to know what Lights you up. What Lights your fire? What inspires you? What enlivens you? Connect to your Spirit and allow your Spirit to shine. Bring Light to others. Share your gifts, talents, dreams and ideas. Leo teaches us generosity. Be generous with your energy. Give back to your community. Reciprocate. Show your Love and care to those around you. Smile more. Practice random acts of kindness.
What to watch for?
The Full Moon in Leo occurs at 12 degrees and 34 minutes. Notice any placements and aspects you have near this degree in your Natal Chart. This Full Moon will provide beneficial for all Fire signs placements, and will bring challenges and opportunities for learning and growth to all Water and Earth signs.
During a Full Moon issues around relationships may come to the surface. Notice the state of your relationships. Notice what is out of balance. We currently have a stellium in the sign of Aquarius. Pluto, Mars, Sun, Venus and Mercury are all in Aquarius. The Leo/Aquarius axis teaches us about attachment.
I recently heard in Instagram, “attachment is not Love.” Many times, we may feel that we are in Love but what it is, is a hormonal based attachment to another person or an idea of a person. We feel oxytocin and we think that’s Love. No. Love is an action. Love is created everyday through action. Every small action and gesture, every small word…adds up to demonstrate our Love. Love is not a feeling. It is a state of being. It is a daily habit. Love is a seed that grows as you cultivate it.
Leo teaches us to love from a place of deep warmth in our Soul. Leo teaches us to attach, to connect, to embrace, to blend as one with another. While Aquarius teaches us to discern, detach and maintain self-independence. A Full Moon is like a seesaw. Both signs are seeking balance with one another. Leo responds with the heart, and Aquarius responds with the mind. Leo can be proud. Aquarius can be argumentative. Both can get fixated on being right. There is an opposition between both signs in the sky right now. The heart says one thing. The head says another. Two people or more people can be at odds with one another. There may be an important decision or choice to make. When considering a direction at this time it may be helpful to consider the middle path.
A Full Moon can highlight places of opposition, tension, stress and stalemates in relationships with others and with our own selves. The best path is not on either extreme. It’s somewhere in the middle. Its being willing to see both sides of the coin. The answer may be to listen to both closely. Seek balance and harmony. Walk the middle path, as Buddha would say.
This is the last Full Moon in our lifetime that will showcase Saturn in Pisces at almost the 29th degree. The 29th degree of any sign is unstable. It is the place that culminates all the spiritual lessons brought forth by the planet in that sign since its ingress. Saturn has been in Pisces since roughly March 2023 and will be moving out of the sign in February of this year. Saturn teaches us to mature, grow and become better versions of ourselves. Saturn will be moving into Aries.
Notice what is culminating and ending in your life. Learn about attachment. Learn to know when to attach and when to detach. Know when to say Hello and when to say Goodbye. Learn when to shine your Light and when to rest. This Full Moon is teaching us about our heart and how to use the energy of our heart. Explore your inner Light and expand its rays onto everyone that crosses your path. The world needs your Light right now. This is not the time dim, it is a time to shine bright.
