Saturn and the Sun
There are moments in our lives when the ground underneath us shakes, and the foundation breaks apart, and we must learn to hold ourselves up by our own inner will and strength. It is in these moments that we learn what Saturn is all about. In Astrology, Saturn is considered a hard and difficult planet. It is the planet responsible for teaching us about aging, illness, death and the difficult challenges and limitations that exist in the experience of being human. Saturn is what is real and tangible. Saturn teaches us about reality -the good and the bad, the pretty and the ugly. The full spectrum of being in existence in this planet.
Saturn teaches us about containment, holding and structuring. The question arises in our lives when we face Saturn…what hold you and contains you when life apart? When the seas of life rise, and the waves seem to drown you, how do you stay afloat?
Saturn is the planet that stands at the edge of the visual universe and the hidden, unseen world of Spirit. Saturn is the threshold holder. He is the Keeper of the Door. In moments of great challenge, the Soul seeks for something Greater than itself. We go within. We find the strength, courage and wisdom from this place within that stands between both worlds - the world of Spirit and the world of form.
When I was a little girl, I almost drowned. I remember being under the water looking up and the feeling of death nearby. I felt deeply calm. I wasn’t scared but I knew I stood at that threshold between this world and the next. Then, I felt something underneath me push me up to the surface. There was no one underneath me. I was able to somehow hold the side of the pool and pushed myself up and out of the pool.
Facing death more than once in my life has helped me hold that space between both worlds for others. Saturn right now is conjunct the Sun and we have an opportunity to face death, difficulties, challenges, obstacles and struggles with a renewed vitality and courage. In the moment when I was drowning, I felt peace. A peace I can’t explained. It felt eternal and beautiful. There is something Greater than ourselves watching over us. There is Greater plan for each of us. And life may tempt us to forget that there is a reason and a purpose for each of us. But today, as Saturn meets with the Sun. Know that the Light will find you, as it did me. The Light held me when no one else was there. In that moment, of being completely alone…. I felt peace. Peace will hold you. The Divine held me, and the Divine will hold you when you need it.
As Saturn meets with the Sun today, know that whatever dark corridors of life you walk through…you do not walk alone. Angels walk beside you. Every step you take is held by Divine Forces. May the Light within you, shine bright…may you see and feel the Light as you walk through the challenges, obstacles and opportunities of life. I walk with you. We walk together.
