Week Ahead Astrology 6/22-6/28

The week begins with the Summer Solstice. We step into the heat of summer. Cancer season is a time to focus on family, home and emotional intelligence. Cancer is empathetic, intuitive, emotional and sensitive. It teaches us about being supportive, protective, nurturing, maternal and caring for ourselves and others. It is the sign of the Mother, Ancestry and Native Land.

During Cancer season we come back to our roots: the people, places and things that connect us to our past and our sense of belonging in the world. Notice how these themes are showing up for you in your life. Notice your relationships to family, children, and Mother (or whoever played that role for you). Notice what you are birthing, nurturing and caring for in your life.    

During Cancer Season the Sun travels through the sign of Cancer teaching us about our emotional and intuitive state. What is the condition of your intuition? Are you listening to your gut feelings and inner knowing? What are your feelings telling you? Cancer teaches us about being emotional and sensitive. It shows us how we protect the sensitive, vulnerable aspects of our being. It teaches us to be aware of our emotional body and the waves of information that come from our feelings and emotions. Every sensation tells you a story.

Every feeling has something to teach you. During this period of time as we slowly move into Capricorn (the most stoic and private sign of the zodiac), notice what is going on under the surface of your being. Notice what your energy is telling you about what you and other’s around you need right now. Cancer is highly intuitive and this is a powerful time to enhance and improve your intuitive abilities as well as your psychic ones. Notice what placements you have in your natal chart in Cancer and Capricorn as these will be feeling the frequencies of change and transformation this week.

This week also sets the stage for the upcoming Mercury Retrograde and Capricorn Full Moon, both of which occur on June 29th. As we get closer to the Mercury Retrograde and the Full Moon something may come full circle. As the Light of the Sun reflects brighter on the surface of the Moon, the Divine is highlighting something to us. Something is being illuminated in our consciousness. Something requires a change in perspective. Our eyes are opened and we are asked to face something in our lives. We are having a reality check. Mercury in Cancer is asking us to be wise. We are asked to practice sound judgement with emotional intelligence.

When I think of the sign of Cancer, I think of the top layer of the ocean. The waves. The way the form and interact with the surface of the water. They way they travel long distances and the way the crash at the shore only to go back to where they came from. And so it continues forever more. Water teaches us about constant change. Water teaches us to welcome the flux of life with intelligent acceptance that this is the way things are. There will be ups and there will be downs. There will be gains and losses. There will be happy, joyful, blissful moments and moments when your heart breaks into a million pieces.

The Cancer-Capricorn axis teaches us to face reality with Grace. To welcome whatever shows up as it shows up, with complete acceptance. To welcome each moment as if it were an honored guest in our home, and to know that that moment will also come to pass. As one of my Spiritual Teachers once said: “Whatever comes, let it come. Whatever goes, let it go.” Easier said than done, I know. But that is the Teaching right now. Notice what life is teaching you.

On Wednesday, the Moon and Sun meet in a trine and balance and peace are possible. Notice what needs to be harmonized in your life, and get to work.

On Thursday, Venus in Leo trines Saturn in Aries. It is a positive influence for all Fire and Air signs, and provides opportunity for growth for all Earth and Water Signs. Notice your placements and what comes up for you as we get closer to the weekend. We may feel inspired to make changes. Help and support may come when you least expect it. Your heart will be speaking to you loud and clear this week so make sure to listen and follow through with you intuitive notches.

From Wednesday and into the weekend, we feel the square (tension and stress) between the Sun and Neptune. Something is not clear. Something is confusing. We may encounter disillusionment or disappointment. Something is covered up or hidden from our view. Trust your intuition from mid-week and into the weekend. The good news is that whatever is hidden, covered or blocked right now, that will come to the surface as we transition into the Full Moon period during the next two weeks. Pay attention and stay alert to signs and synchronicities. The Universe is always watching, and nothing is unseen by God. Open your eyes and hearts to whatever the Divine shows you. Something comes to the surface to be seen and acknowledged. Be willing to see.

As we move into Saturday, Mars in Taurus is forming a sextile with Jupiter in Cancer. Jupiter will become invisible in the sky starting on July 9th. So as Jupiter begins its descend into invisibility, a spiritual lesson is being shown to us. Pay attention to what the Universe is teaching you about yourself and your life. Pay attention to your life purpose. As Mars sextiles Jupiter we are asked to take action somewhere in our lives. Mars in Taurus is slow and methodical. Patience and timing are key. Take your time. Know and define what you want. Get clear on the journey ahead, and take inspired action when your Soul is guiding you forward.

The week prepares us for the changes unfolding in our lives as we walk deeper into the Summer Solstice period. Your life is a book. Notice the chapter you are in and notice the chapter you are writing every day with every thought, word and action you take. This week, be a willing participant in the unfolding story of your life. Remember this, it’s still not over and you are actively writing it. So, pick up the pen and write the life you want.
