Fall Equinox 2024

The Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces on Tuesday paves the way for the Fall Equinox. The Astrological chart of the Fall Equinox will be active until December 21st, 2024 when the Winter Solstice occurs. The chart provides significant information of the energies we will deal with from now until the Winter Solstice.  

The Autumnal Equinox occurs on September 22nd at 8:44am EDT. The Ruler of the chart, Venus is in Libra at the 29th degree. This is significant not only because Venus in Libra is in dignity but also because the 29th degree is the anaretic degree. The anaretic degree is a liminal space where the planet is between ending a cycle and starting a new cycle. It is the penultimate step…the last attempt… “one last try”. It is where the planet has an opportunity to learn from the past and step into the unknown future. In this case, is in regards to our relationships, love and finances.

There are karmic consequences to all we do, and so the 29th degree is where we have an opportunity to decide, do I go backwards? Or do I go forward? Do I do things how I have always done them? Or do I apply what I have learned and do things differently? This is a great time to meditate on the quote by Rita Mae Brown, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Change your actions, change the results. The chart seems to be asking us to become aware of our intentions and choices, and the results that come from taking them.

The ruler of the chart, Venus in Libra is squaring Pluto in Capricorn (also at the 29th degree). This is an even bigger deal because Pluto is leaving Capricorn in November of this year and will not come back to Capricorn in our generation. Pluto in Capricorn has been transforming the Capricorn area of your Astrological chart since 2008. Think back to your life then and notice where you are now.

How have you changed? How has your life changed? What remains the same? All Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) have been feeling the intense pressure and transformation brought forth by Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto is the intense heat that creates a diamond out of a rock. Pluto is the transformational process a caterpillar goes through before it becomes a butterfly. It is irreversible change. Once the butterfly has wings it can no longer be a caterpillar. Notice where in your life you have transformed. This is time to review to the transformation. Are you satisfied with the changes? What needs revising? What needs to be re-written? Re-done? Fixed or repaired? Pluto is retrograde and is asking us to have one final look at who we’ve become since Pluto entered the Capricorn area of our chart.

The square between Venus and Pluto is asking us to go deep into our heart space and check in with our innermost truths. In Shōgun, the great popular TV show, a sailor tells Blackthorne about a Japanese principle that every man has three hearts: One in the mouth: For the world to see. One in the chest: For friends. And a third - A secret heart: Buried deep, where no one can find it. Pluto will find this heart and make you face it. Pluto will invite you to sit and listen to what it has to say. We can not run away from the truth within our being. The deepest heart must be heard and Pluto squaring Venus will help us do just that. It is deep in the heart space that we will find the answers we are looking for. This Autumnal Equinox invites us to explore the third heart. Is what you want, what you truly need? Time to get real with ourselves.What we want. What we need. What needs to get done.

Notice the Cardinal areas (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) in your chart as these will be activated during this period of time.

The Pisces Eclipse along with Autumnal Equinox are asking us to be aware of what we are creating. Our thoughts, words, intentions and actions are creating the world we experience and the world we interact with. They are made of energy. Energy expands and grows and becomes…

Notice the quality of your thoughts. Notice your thoughts about your life, about others around you and about the world. What energy are your thoughts emitting? An energy of peace? Or an energy of fear, doubt, and uncertainty? What do you want to emit to the world?

Are your thoughts truly reflective of who you are at the core of your being? Are your thoughts creating the reality you want to experience? Or are your thoughts creating a reality you fear or don’t wish to experience? Notice your mindset. Notice the images you are emitting to the Universe. Thoughts have energy, and every thought emits energy. What is the energy behind your thoughts? Know that you have the power to direct your thoughts.

You have the power to change your mind. You have the power to change your thinking, and to choose your speech and your actions. Notice the quality of your energy and your intentions. Pisces rules the formless energy of the Universe. During this Lunar Eclipse we are being asked to look at our energy and how we are emitting energy into the world. What form are you wanting your energy to take?

The Fall Equinox teaches us to take accountability about the way we interact with the world. The Sun in Libra during the Fall Equinox brings awareness to our relationships…to the way we relate to our own self and with the entire world around us…partners, children, family, friends, neighboors and entire world family. Notice the current state of your relationships. Notice the state of your energy. What energy are you emitting in your relationships? What energy are you emitting into the world?

We are asked to see the bigger picture. We are asked to see the world with the eyes of the Soul that resides deep within our being. We are asked to be responsible and conscious of our thoughts, words and actions as they are contributing to the collective experience. We are creating our reality with every thought, word and action we take. The way we perceive the world determines our experience of the world. What are you wanting to experience? More peace? More joy? What are you creating with your words and actions?  What are we creating together, collectively? What are you wanting to create now? What energy are you wanting to emit into the world? Those are the questions to explore during this Fall Equinox period. Listen to your Third Heart, it will know the answers.
