Full Moon in Aries 2023

A Full Moon is a time of culmination and illumination. Something in our lives comes to a head or to a conclusion. Something gets illuminated in such a way that it can no longer be ignored. The Light of the Sun, the Soul, reflects onto the Moon, representative of our instincts, emotions, and body. We see now. We feel. We know, We are aware. We are awake. Notice how these energies are showing up for you in your life.

The Moon in Aries points to Mars in Libra and Venus in Leo. Both of which are main characters in this story being played out in the sky. Mars in Libra is in detriment. By nature, Mars is a fighter, a warrior, It loves independence and action. Mars does not feel comfortable with the Libra energies. Libra is about the relating principle, beauty, peace, love, diplomacy, balance, and harmony. Mars in Libra in connection with the Full Moon is pointing to the following questions (journal prompt ideas 😊):

How am I using my energy? Am I feeling depleted? If so, evaluate what you are doing.

What am I fighting for? Is it worth the fight?

What am I passionate about? Assess your passions.

What are my goals? And why?  

What do I need to let go or surrender from my life or from myself?

What is out of balance in my relationships? With myself? And with others?

We have been experiencing powerful, life-transforming energies since the summer began thanks to Venus in Leo. Venus met with the Sun during the Venus-Sun Cazimi, and we started a new 8-year cycle (read my blog post on it). This Full Moon activates the lessons and insights received during the Venus Retrograde and the Cazimi. Venus and Mars are working together through mutual reception.

The Full Moon takes place on the Aries-Libra Axis, which influences the Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn) as well as the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius). Aries represents the self, the “me, I Am, I want.” Libra represents “the other”, anyone in your life such as a partner, friend, lover, family member, coworker, boss, guest, neighbor, etc.  Relationship dynamics are highly activated during this Full Moon. You may become aware of relationships or relationship patterns that no longer work for you. 

We may see more divorces, separations (business partners, corporations, etc.), and breakups on social media and worldwide. The South Node is like a big vacuum cleaner, clearing from our lives all that no longer serves us in the area in our charts where Libra is found, and with connection with Mars in Libra (relationships), it is clear that this dynamic will show up in some way in our lives or in the lives of others around us.

The other reason, that leads me to believe that more separations are likely, is that Venus (the relating principle) is making her final square to Uranus (radical change, erratic behavior, liberation, rebellion, breaking free) on the same day as the Full Moon (culmination, release, endings). This is the third and final square between Venus in Leo and Uranus in Taurus.  The square dates were as follows: 9/29/23, 8/09/23 and 7/02/23-7/03/23. Recall what came up for you then. The stress-inducing energy of a square can cause us to make decisions based on emotions only and not on reasoning. It may be important to consider both the heart and the mind when making decisions and choices and be aware of the prolonged consequences of our actions. Reactive and impulsive behavior in ourselves or in others is possible during this time so stay grounded, connected, and balanced.

Venus and Mars will be changing signs soon.  The next lessons or actions will be revealed. The lessons learned during the Cazimi, Venus Retrograde, and now the Full Moon in Aries will be put into motion later in the Fall and Winter. The upcoming Eclipses will bring final decisions, new choices, clarity, direction, and big change.
