Pre Retrograde Mars Period
This morning, to my surprise, my feed showed the iconic restaurant scene from Scarface—a movie my dad loved.
In that scene, Tony Montana looks around and asks, "Is this it?" questioning the life he has built for himself. What follows is a raw, powerful monologue on truth, morality, and authenticity. I can see why the Universe placed that scene in my path today. The sky so often mirrors life on Earth: As above, so below.
Currently in the heavens, we have Jupiter (representing truth and expansion) alongside Mars and the South Node, all aligning in Leo—a combination that perfectly mirrors Tony’s intense reckoning. Jupiter teaches us about truth, purpose, and living authentically. Meanwhile, Mars and the South Node in Leo demand a deep, unfiltered look at our ego, our character, and the life paths we are carving out.
The South Node illuminates what no longer serves the authentic life we are stepping into. When planets meet the South Node, it is akin to the Universe cleaning house. What has been hidden comes to light. We are being asked to reach into the deep closets of our minds, hearts, and lives. The Universe is clearing space for new energy, new experiences, and elevated spiritual lessons.
Mars, Jupiter, and the South Node of Fate are asking us to face our current realities with the same raw honesty Tony faced his. Mars brings the sharp, uncomfortable urge to act; Jupiter brings absolute honesty; and the South Node marks what must be surrendered.
Entering the Shadow
We are officially stepping into the pre-retrograde shadow period of Mars. Mars governs how we direct our energy, what drives us forward, how we react, and our relationship to masculine principles.
Mars enters its pre-retrograde shadow zone on November 5, 2026, at 20° Leo 56′, but many of us are already feeling the shift. Pay attention to the themes, spiritual lessons, and shifting patterns emerging in your life right now. Notice what the Universe is asking you to release, surrender, and transform.
Check your natal chart for placements in the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius), as these degrees will feel these frequencies most acutely. The official Mars Retrograde begins on January 10, 2027 (at 10° Virgo) and lasts until April 1, 2027 (stationing direct at 20° Leo). Observe the shifts unfolding across the Virgo and Leo houses of your chart over the coming months.
