Mutual Reception
I asked the Angels this morning to talk to me about the current mutual reception in the sky right now between Venus and Mercury. Venus is in Gemini and Mercury is in Taurus. Mercury rules Gemini and Venus rules Taurus. A mutual reception shows both planets working together in a cohesive, harmonious manner.
Smell the flowers (Venus in Gemini) and slow down your pace, move gently (Mercury in Taurus). I saw myself sitting in nature by a mountain and a lake. Quiet. Calm. Breathing. Being. The invitation right now is to slow down and notice life. Notice the small, quiet, gentle moments between the loud noise of life. Place your hand on your belly and feel the rise and fall of the breath and love your belly even if its not how you want it to be.
When I was taught Astrology, I thought Venus in Gemini was loud and noisy and gossipy and a social butterfly. And perhaps that is one aspect of this Venusian expression. But as I have embodied Astrology, I have come to realize that Gemini can also be smaller, pieces of moments in time…bit size thoughts and words. And that doesn’t mean they need to be fast or slow, or bad or good. Moments can be like the wings of a butterfly…soft, gentle, fleeting, ephemeral…moving fast and yet moving slow like a dance in a blue infinite sky…moments can be gentler and calmer like the sounds of a lake. Words can slow down. Thoughts can lower in volume. Venus in Gemini communicates. And the world is always moving and communicating, but with Mercury in Taurus, both planets are asking us to take a different approach to how we are living life.
We are asked to move with intuition, intention and gentleness. Taurus at its best its gentle. This is why the Moon, which represents nurturing, mothering and caring is exalted in Taurus. Taurus can be sweet like honey, and gentle like the warmest hug during a cold, winter night. Mercury, the mind, softens in Taurus. We can be kinder in our own mind. Our mind can be a gentle blanket, and our words can be soft hugs to those around us. Both Venus and Mercury are asking us to walk more softly on the Earth.
My mom is staying with me right now. So I’ll get to spend time with her during Mother’s Day. She’s a Taurus. She is a Teacher of humility and kindness. She’s taught me to enjoy good food and to be humble and servient when you Love. She has Venus in Gemini. And she is teaching me right now about Venus in Gemini. Talk about Divine Timing lol. Venus in Gemini needs to talk to feel loved. Words are connection. And I am naturally quiet and solitary so it’s interesting how the Universe is showing me right now about the balancing of both of our rhythms when in a shared space. I teach her to be quiet and she teaches me to open up and speak. And because both planets are in the sky, the Universe is supporting our Teachings to each other. Life is really a beautiful orchestra when you think about it. So, I am slowing down from my normal, busy pace to enjoy my family. My small, little family that means the entire Universe to me.
Notice in your own life how Venus, the planet of women, love, beauty, pleasure and gentleness, and Mercury, the planet of communication and movement are showing up in your life right now. Notice what you are learning and what you are teaching others. A mutual reception is an opportunity to harmonize. To connect. To become as one with life itself and with those you love. Take advantage of these energies. Slow down and take life in and smile.
