Week Ahead Astrology
Mercury, the planet of mental processes and movement, entered the sign of Taurus on May 2nd and will stay in the sign until May 17th. We are asked to focus on grounded, practical matters in our lives. Taurus teaches us about security, stability and that which endures the test of time. Taurus also teaches us about the sensual, comfortable pleasures of life: good food, good drink, and good company. Taurus teaches us about value and attachment. What is valuable to you? What is worth holding on to and what is worth letting go of? In Aries, the Soul takes its first breath onto Earth. In Taurus, we receive our first touch. We are held by a nurse or doctor as we arrive onto Earth into the arms of our Mother. Taurus is our first attachment. Who or what do you attach yourself to for comfort? For Love? For Peace?
One day I was walking and I saw a cat sleeping on a corner of a busy sidewalk. She was held in the most beautiful, gentle Light. I stopped to look at her and people kept walking around ignoring her but no one (thank God) was bothering her. She slept in peace and calm. I prayed for her safety. And I thought, every being on this Earth deserves to sleep like that. To feel safe like that. Every tiny little creature deserves safety, security, food and water, and Love. Everyone. That is the lesson of Taurus energy. Understanding and accepting our inherited value.
And in the acceptance of our value, receive comfort and ease not only from our environment but from the Universe itself. The Teachings of Taurus are beyond comfort and pleasure. It is about the safety that is inherited in the Sacred gift of being born on this Earth. It is our birthright. It is our inherited right as Souls to be safe and to enjoy this beautiful planet and to leave Earth better than when we came in. While the Sun and Mercury are in Taurus this month explore your sense of value and how you create and find comfort and ease in your life.
Mercury in Taurus is asking us to notice our sense of belonging on this Earth. To notice how safe and secure we feel in our lives and in our own skins. To notice what nurtures us, helps us feel secure and safe and comfortable. To notice our emotional investments and attachments and how these are serving our Higher Good. Explore how we wish to provide safety, comfort and pleasure to ourselves and those we Love.
The Sun in Taurus is about the Soul expressing and knowing its innate sense of value but also finding ease and comfort in a Human life. Notice your life. How comfortable are you? How secure and safe are you? Do you love your life? If not, there are four energies in the sky in the sign of Aries right now asking us to take charge and change things in our lives. Aries is the Hero of the story and at some point, in our lives we figure out no one is coming to save us so we must do the job. And the Universe is encouraging us now to take the wheel and drive ourselves back onto the road we want to be in.

Pluto in Aquarius has been influencing our lives and charts since its ingress on March 2023. On a Global scale, Pluto in Aquarius is bringing change to social and political structures as well as heralding in new technologies and medical advances as we saw during the rise of AI in early 2023. Notice how our lives are changing with AI and its just beginning.

March 23, 2023 – June 11, 2023: Enters Aquarius for the first time since late 1700s.
January 20, 2024 – September 1, 2024: Re-entry, followed by a final retrograde in Capricorn.
November 19, 2024 – January 19, 2044: Long-term stay in Aquarius.
Pluto in Aquarius initiated us into a long period of Air Quality dominance in the sky. More of the Air element in the sky means that the Universe is asking us to focus on the Air qualities of the mind and heart and their teachings in our lives. The element of Air teaches us about our social and communication skills. Air is about how we relate to the environment around. How we move, speak and listen. Air teaches us to develop our mind particularly how we use our senses of reason, logic, objectivity and intellect. Air is the expression of the Soul. How is your Soul expressing itself on Earth? Pluto in Aquarius is inviting us to notice our overall use of mental energy and personal power.
Pluto teaches us about power. About finding and claiming our inner power. The power places within you by the Divine to create and manifest yourself and your life. In Aquarius is about how we show up in the world. How we relate our ideas and ideals with others. How we connect to community. How we share the seeds of knowledge our Soul carries. While Pluto is in Aquarius is important to know what matters most to you and to stand in the truth of who you are. To explore what power means to you, and to reclaim your own power.
Pluto in Aquarius is also inviting us to be tolerant and friendlier. How friendly and relatable are we? Aquarius is a tolerant, friendly sign. It teaches us to develop strong bonds of friendship with ourselves and others. Aquarius teaches us tolerance through sympathy, empathy, and understanding of others. Finding common ground and embracing differences as unique opportunities for learning. We have an opportunity to learn, value and appreciate differences.
Aquarius is the last sign of the Air element. It is the place where the mind graduates from all it has learned throughout the lifetime. The thoughts, ideas, ideals and capacities of the mind are fully expressed in this sign. It is the full flowering of the mind before the Soul enters the sign of Pisces, where we surrender the mind and body to return back Home. In Pisces we merge with our Soul and the Divine.
Pluto in Aquarius is asking us to wake up and use our minds to the best of our abilities. To communicate and socialize to the best of our abilities. To become our best Human Self before we return Home. The retrograde period that begins this week is asking us to reflect on our mind and the way we show up in the world. How are you showing up in the world? Is what people see who you really are? Are you living your potential?
This is a powerful period to reflect and review your life. What is the state of your life? What needs to be different? Is there more we can do? Is there more we can become? Or is this it? Of course, the answer is no. You are still on Earth. Thus, your flower is still blooming and growing and becoming. The question at hand is, what are you becoming? Are you fully flowering? The time is now.
What will you do next? Aquarius is forward moment. Aquarius is the opportunity to grow into your full potential as a Soul on Earth. Are you living your full potential? And if we are not living our full potential, the opportunity during this retrograde, is to get our act together. To wake up from the dream and the distractions of everyday life and pay attention to your life. Pay attention to how you spend your days. The way you spend your days is how you spend your life. Read that again. How are you spending your days?
The energies of Aries and the Pluto Retrograde this week are asking to wake up and take charge. It’s time to wake up. Our days on Earth are limited. What will you do with the rest of your time on Earth?
