This week is all about the upcoming New Moon in Taurus at 25 degrees and 57 minutes of Taurus. The New Moon Phase occurs on May 16th at 4:01pm EST. A New Moon is an opportunity for a new beginning somewhere in your life. The influence of this New Moon phase can last anywhere from two weeks to October of this year, or more if it touches a placement in your Natal Chart. Notice what placements you have in the Earth and Fixed Signs in your Birth Chart as these will be impacted by the current energetic shift.

This is the first New Moon without Uranus in Taurus, which makes this New Moon a big deal. Uranus was in Taurus from May 15, 2018, to April 25, 2026, and has now moved into Gemini. This New Moon highlights the ending of this period and the beginning of a new chapter based on the lessons learned from the previous period. A new, fresh start is now possible for all Taurus and Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius).

Notice your life and the endings and spiritual lessons you have had this year. Also, notice the spiritual lessons from 2018 until 2026.  We are closing the door on the past and we are moving forward. We must walk in faith through the dark of night. Trusting the stars we see and feel watching over us. We must trust the Divine rhythm, timing and consistency of nature and of life. The New Moon in Taurus is ruled by Venus. Venus is in Gemini co-present with the new energies of Uranus in Gemini. Venus is asking us to focus on our mind, communication and interaction with the world. Venus is asking for connection and forward movement. Venus in Gemini wants to talk. Discuss and think about things. See things from a lighter, friendlier perspective.  

Venus in Gemini sextiles Mars in Aries and Chiron in Aries. Venus in Gemini is quick to jump to conclusions and ignore deep conversations. Words can hurt. Venus in Gemini is great for networking and meeting new people. Misunderstandings can happen. So be mindful of your and other people’s words, intentions and actions. Don’t take anything literally or personally. Listen carefully. Take your time and make sure you understand your choices and decisions as well as other people’s.

Venus sextile Mars is a great energy for dating and getting more connected to your significant other. It is playful, flirty energy. Great for sexy time. Warnings with this New Moon

This New Moon occurs on the Fixed Star Algol and highlights a conjunction between Mars and Chiron.

The Fixed Star Algol is traditionally associated with death, beheadings, danger, chaos and misfortune. It is a malefic fixed star known as a “Demon Star” and associated with the myth of Medusa, particularly Medusa’s head and the beheading of Medusa. The Fixed Star Algol is often associated with any head or neck injuries, so be careful out there. It is the literal or symbolic representation of losing one’s mind or one’s head. Becoming obsessed or having stubborn, tunnel vision. Wanting to get our way at all costs. Be mindful of your energy, your thoughts, your words and your actions. Be careful. The energy will be particularly strong this month.  

Mars (planet of war, violence, sharp things, weapons, fire and injuries) and Chiron (wounding or being wounded) are in the sign of Aries (which is also associated with war and warriors) and can signify the face or head. Moon, Mars and Chiron are all asking us to be mindful of our actions as well as warning us of injuries or the consequences of losing our head or mind over something or someone. Stay ground. Breathe. Use your wisdom, discernment and judgement this entire month.

A New Moon is the Sun and Moon in a conjunction. The Sun represents Kings, Queens and Heads of State and the Moon represents the Public and the way the public feels or acts. It may be that we may see in the news, people losing their minds or their heads, figurately speaking or literally. Mars and Chiron in Aries point to the current wars in the world and their current outcomes. The chart suggests there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than the public sees.
