Weekend Forecast

The Moon, representative of emotions, feelings, home and family, will be in Scorpio throughout the holiday weekend. Scorpio is deep, intense, mysterious and powerful. We or others around us may be emotionally sensitive, so tread lightly.

Scorpio is deeply private and keeps their emotions to themselves. However, this can lead to bottling up emotions, repression and overwhelm.  Repressed emotions may rise to the surface like sleeping volcanoes. Things that have not been dealt with, within relationships, family and in ourselves may come to surface to heal and process. Know your triggers and emotionally regulate. Practice self-care and compassion. Seek to understand and forgive. Enjoy your family and friends. Rise above drama, and don’t take things personally. Avoid gossip and practice healthy boundaries. Intimate and private gatherings are favored under this energetic influence so take advantage of that.

On Sunday, we have a New Moon in the sign of Sagittarius at 9 degrees 32 minutes. Notice what placements you have in Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) as these will feel the impact of the New Moon energy. The New Moon is happening in the sign of Sagittarius, beneficial for all Fire (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) and Air Signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). The New Moon provides an opportunity to Earth (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) and Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) to rise above challenges and obstacles.

A New Moon is an opportunity to start again. Take a new, fresh breath. Take a new approach. Walk down a new path. Begin a new chapter. The New Moon Phase its Life’s Reset Button. Notice what area in your life is asking you to push the reset button.  We can plan the seeds of a new idea, take a new action, start something new and course correct.

Sagittarius teaches us wisdom, vision and adventure. Sagittarius is optimistic, freedom-loving, truth-seeking and idealistic. It is frank and outspoken. Sagittarius is philosophical and philanthropic. It can be opinionated, tactless, zealous and restless. Sagittarius teaches us to expand the horizons of our minds and hearts and see the bigger picture of what is possible in our lives.

The Ruler of the New Moon is Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter in Gemini is currently retrograde and is opposing Mercury in Sagittarius who is also retrograde. Jupiter in Gemini is also in a square with Saturn in Pisces. We have big ideas and big dreams but we may need to take our time deciphering our next steps. Saturn is asking us to slow down and look at the details. Saturn in Pisces is teaching us about the ways we escape reality. Pisces teaches us to dream, to be compassionate, intuitive and inspiring. Yet, in Saturn we are asked to make our dreams and intuition concrete and real. Saturn brings us down to Earth. Saturn squaring the New Moon invites us to pursuit our dreams and create our vision in practical, concrete ways.

The opposition between Mercury and Jupiter shows that may need sometime to figure out the details. Get clear on the plan ahead. We may not see the how and when and get worried, discouraged and even lose faith in our dreams and in ourselves and our capacity to make things happen. However, the teaching of Saturn in Pisces is ultimately surrender and trust. Surrender to the Divine Plan. Trust yourself and your life. Mercury and Jupiter are asking us to think in new ways, see and do things differently. Restore hope and faith on our path and write a new chapter in the book of our life.

The Teaching of the Dragonfly

I recently saw a dragonfly dead on the ground on my way home. It was a sign for me to write about the Teachings of the Dragonfly and the New Moon.

Several years ago, while walking through the halls of my university, I saw a dragonfly hitting its head on a light. She must have thought that it was a door or a way out of the building. I stood and tried to help her, but she kept hitting the light unable to see that there was another way out. I prayed and asked the Angels to help her. She eventually stopped and stood still. Quiet and still. In her stillness I learned the lesson she was trying to convey. Animals always show up in our lives for a reason.

Sometimes we want something so bad that we keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. We keep knocking on doors that won’t open. We keep hitting our heads on the walls of situations we wish to change. We keep doing things that don’t get us the results we want. We can become so passionate, stubborn and unyielding in wanting our way and not realize that the Universe is showing us a different way, a different door. If a door doesn’t open, stop and become still like the Dragonfly. In the stillness you can listen to the Universe, and it will guide you forward.

The teaching of Dragonfly was to stop and become still and listen within. In the stillness of the mind and heart, answers always come. There is a flow to the river of life and when we are not in the flow of life, we suffer. Notice this New Moon what you want in your life. Notice where you have been pushing too hard or pressing too strongly to get your way. Notice what doors have not opened. Notice where walls remain. Notice the stop signs. Notice the mysterious flow of life and where it is guiding you. Dare to trust.

The New Moon gives us an opportunity to think in new ways, to pick a different direction, to plant new seeds and to knock on new yet to be found doors. Be willing to trust the flow of the river of life, even if you don’t yet know where it’s going, get on the boat and hold God’s hands…trust that “just around the riverbend”(google the Pocahontas song, Just Around the Riverbend 😊), a new adventure awaits and new unknown territories yet to be explored can lead you to the right door, and into path of our dreams coming true.
