Your Week Ahead Update

The planet of war, sex and action, Mars, goes retrograde on December 6th 2024 and will remain retrograde until February 23rd, 2025. Mars represents our sense of direction and desire to take action. We are asked to go inward and think things through before we take decisive action. We are asked to review, re-examine and reassess our lives and the changes we wish to make. If you have placements in Aries or Scorpio you will feel the Mars Retrograde energies.

On December 7th, the planet of Love and Money, Venus in Leo, conjuncts the planet of power, death and rebirth, Pluto in Aquarius. A conjunction is a planting of a new seed, the birth of a new idea or direction and the beginning of a new chapter. A conjunction is a clean slate, a do-over and a fresh start. The conjunction between Venus and Pluto happens at 0 degrees of Aquarius. Notice any placements you have in Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) as these will feel the birth of something new in your life.

While Venus is in the sign of Leo, Venus shines the Light of the Sun, it wants to be seen and recognized. Leo is the sign of the King and Queen. Venus in Leo knows its worth and wants you to know their worth too. Leo is a fixed fire sign; it is the blue spark at the center of the fire. It burns deep, intense and steady. Venus teaches us about our ability to attract what we want in our lives. Venus teaches us about ease and grace, pleasure, love, relationships, partnerships, harmony, cohesion, art, beauty and social affairs. As Pluto, the planet of power and permament alterations, conjunct Venus, Pluto brings intensity, depth and obsessive energies to our desires and wants. We or others around us may want to make drastic changes in our lives. Plutonian energies are passionate and demanding so keep yourself or others in check through this transit. Tame your passions. Control your emotions. Pressure and heat is on. Intense attractions and desires are possible at this time. Some new passion or attraction may happen suddenly and unexpectedly. A new fire ignites within you. However, balance mind and heart. Think things through. Keep cool and collected.

On December 11th and 12th, Venus will oppose Mars Retrograde. Whatever began at the beginning of the month during the Venus-Pluto conjunction may now encounter some sort of challenge or obstacle.

Mars is our impulse to act and make decisions. When Venus meets Mars in opposition in mid-month, we may know what we want and desire but not know how to get it or what to do about it. Our actions and decision-making abilities may seem limited or restricted somehow. The opposition between both planets can express as internal or external power dynamics that may seem to inhibit, stop or block us from having what we desire or wish to attract in our lives. The building energetic tension between Venus (Yin/Feminine principle) and Mars (Yang/Masculine Principle) will be most felt from now until about December 13th. This is a powerful time to find balance in relationships with yourself and with others.

Venus emphasizes our relationships and social dimensions. Pay close attention to what is coming up for you in your relationships, partnerships and social life. Notice any tensions, stresses, power struggles or elephants in the room that need to be dealt with at this time. Communication is key right now because Mercury, the planet of communication and the mind, is Retrograde until December 15th and will be stationing around the time of the opposition between Venus and Mars. So, it is very likely that misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and miscommunication can occur during the earlier part of December. Slow down when speaking and listen carefully. Say what you mean, mean what you say. Opposing views are likely. Find common ground. Stay emotionally balanced and centered. This is a powerful time to improve your communication skills as well as your social and relationship skills.

The Full Moon in Gemini on December 15th opposes Neptune which will turn direct soon. We are asked to see and communicate things clearly. We are asked to put the rose-colored glasses down and face our thoughts mindfully which will then create our actions. This is a time to get clear on what you want and where you are going. This is a time to go inward and connect to your intuition. Clean up the inner compass and choose a direction wisely. Listen to your heart but with the wisdom of your intellect and mind. Mars is retrograde, slow down, take your time and pay attention to what life is asking of you…and not what you are asking of life.
