The week begins with the frequencies of the New Moon in Leo on August 4th, Venus entering Virgo and Mercury stationing on August 5th and going retrograde until the end of the month (Read my previous two blog posts on the New Moon, Venus and Mercury Retrograde).

And in the background of all these powerful planetary energies, Mars, the God of desire, war and passion is approaching the applying square between Jupiter and Saturn. This is a big deal as it will show us what we have been learning as a collective and individually since the two planets meet on December 21st 2020 in the sign of Aquarius. The two giants meet roughly every 20 years. The previous conjunction occurred on May 28th 2000 in the sign of Taurus.

In Ancient times, Saturn was the great dividing line between the material world and the spiritual world (the world of the unknown universe), and Jupiter the planet representative of God in the sky, and the King, Queen and Leader of Countries on the Earth. Jupiter also represented Teachers, Guides, Religious figures,  the principles of prosperity, growth, wisdom, justice, expansion, freedom, religion, philosophy, faith, virtue, success, fertility, and progress. Whereas, Saturn is the God of time, the Grim Reaper, and the Lord of Karma. Saturn is serious business. Saturn holds the threshold between the seen and the unseen. Saturn is the structures and foundations we create. The solid, concrete reality on which we stand. As we move deeper into the square the question becomes how solid and concrete is our reality?

As both planets apply to a square there is also a tension behind the background building between countries already in conflict. Mars is intensifying the fire already burning. Like the old song by Billy Joel says, “we didn’t start the fire” but we certainly continue it. Saturn is the land and Jupiter is the law. There is conflict all over the world over land. Who owns what land, who can live in the land, who belongs in the land, and who the land belongs to. And yet, when we look at Earth from the vantage point of space, there are no boundaries…just one single planet, one single home.

Both Jupiter and Mercury are in Gemini. Gemini is the sign of neighbors and siblings. As the square builds and recedes, we can see neighboring countries fighting with each other over land and land use. Immigration, infratructures, internet and social media (both Jupiter and Gemini issues) are also big topics for several countries.

Essentially, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are teaching us to find a way to create boundaries, rules, limitations and structures that will work between neighbors. Mars is helping us by bringing up anger, frustration, pain, “inflammation”, to the surface so we can heal, so we can talk about it (Gemini). With Saturn and Jupiter squaring there is a wanting for new laws, new structures and boundaries. A square brings necessary stress, sometimes we need to be pushed to make changes, and that is exactly what is happening right now all over the world.

On a personal level, Jupiter and Saturn are bringing up the need to be honest with ourselves (Jupiter is truth) about our current reality (Saturn). Notice what you have built and created for yourself in all areas of your life. Notice the state of your life. What is working and what is not? What structures have fallen, what needs to be rebuilt and what needs to be taken down? Life is constantly evolving and this is a moment to checking with the overall picture of our individual and collective life.

Jupiter is also about generosity and abundance. How abundant are you feeling these days? I don’t just mean money. I mean in all areas of your life…abundance of love, fun, joy, health, wellbeing, friendship, etc. If there is an area of your life that feels lacking. This is the time to work on that. Mars triggering the square is asking us to reclaim our drive and passion in order to understand what needs to change and what you are now ready to create and attract into your life. With Mars in the mix, notice what is irritating you? What is the itch you want to scratch? What is the desire that is rising within you? What are you passionate about? What do you desire in your life? What can you no longer ignore? What is the fire burning within you? Or did the fire turned off? If so it’s time to get lit again. Time to find what Lights your world. Pay attention and listen as the square between Jupiter and Saturn is teaching you what changes are needed in your consciousness and in your life.

Jupiter and Saturn met in conjunction on December 2020. Think back to your life then. What was your life like at that time? What did you begin around that time? What intentions, dreams and seeds did you plant? Those seeds, intentions and lessons are now grown and are ready to be checked on. Do you wish to continue what you started then? Or is it time for change? And if you didn’t make changes that were shown to you then. Then, now is the time to do so. Life is always working with us. Getting us to move ahead and grow and become all that we can be. Saturn is the planet of harvest. Look at the harvest of your life. Look at what you have grown. Look at what did not grow and what has died. Look at the garden of your life. Take out the weeds, care for the plants that gave fruit and grow new seeds. The land of your life is still fertile. You still have time. Time is the most valuable asset you have. What will you do with your time on Earth? Its time to answer the question.
