Mercury in Leo

The Month of July begins with a powerful changing of the tide. On July 2nd 2024, Neptune, higher octave of Venus, God of the Seas, and the planet of enchantment and illusions, goes retrograde until December 7th 2024.

Neptune in Pisces began on April 4, 2011 and will be there until 2026. Think back to what your life was like around that time when the planet began its journey through Pisces. What were the spiritual lessons coming up for you then and how are they showing up now? Also, notice what has been coming up for you this and last week, as you have already been feeling the effects of this retrograde period.

The Universe is making a powerful statement as Neptune goes retrograde on the anaretic degree,. The anaretic degree, the 29th degree of a sign, is thought to be a karmic degree. It is the place where we graduate from the energies of the sign, surrender, let go and prepare ourselves for the new upcoming energy when the planet changes signs. Neptune will enter Aries next year, bringing a new wave of energies into our lives. The anaretic degree asks us to take a close look at what has been learned since April 2011 in the area of our charts where Neptune in Pisces currently resides. If something began during that period you can ask yourself: Does it still serve a purpose? Does it need to change? What needs improvement? What is working and what is not?

Neptune in Pisces

Neptune is the Higher Octave of Venus. Neptune teaches us about oneness with all beings, unity, devotion and unconditional Love. Neptune also rules the oceans, clouds, mists and fog. Neptune is illusive and shape-shifting. Neptune dissolves form. Think of water as it hits a hard rock, after a while the rock becomes soft and changes form. This is the way Neptune works.

Neptune is also nebulous, cloudy and smoky. It hides things. It escapes reality into its own world. When the clouds of Neptune take hold of our mind or heart, we are not able to see things clearly. Neptune rules enchantment, fantasy, dreams, the ecstasy of Love, imagination, and inspiration. Neptune can inspire great artistic work but it can cloud our judgement. Our senses can be deceived in the energies of Neptune.

As the planet retrogrades, the fog begins to lift and waters reside. We are able to see. Notice what you have become aware of this and last week. Notice what has been revealed to you. See things for what they are and not what you want them to be. Open your senses and clear your intuition. Illusions, deceptions, and lies may be cleared at this time.  Whatever has been behind the scenes is now revealed. Storms subside. We become aware of addictive patterns and behaviors so may change them. We become aware of the ways we deceive ourselves and the ways others deceive us.

Mercury in Leo

On the same day that Neptune goes retrograde, and we get a break from the Neptunian energies. Mercury enters Leo until July 25th 2024. The Universe, again, making a powerful statement. The Light of the Sun enters the mind. Leo is ruled by the Sun. The Sun comes in and clears the fog of Neptune in our mental fields. Our communication and interactions are held in the Light of our Soul. The warmth and brilliance of the Sun during Mercury in Leo brings forth clarity, illumination and transparency into our minds, communications and interactions with others. Leo is lively, dramatic, creative and fun.  Mercury in Leo can teaches us to play. To not take life so seriously. To make time for fun and relaxation. It gives us an opportunity to connect with our inner child. To laugh and play as if we were ageless. We have an opportunity to bring our focus to creativity.  We can focus our energies on new ventures, projects and creative pursuits.

This is a powerful week. We have an invitation to let go of confusion, disillusionment, indecision, and addictive patterns of behavior and thinking. We can clear the fog of doubt, fear and illusion and land our feet on the firm shores of reality. We can wake up from a dream and create a new and beautiful reality.  Mercury in Leo, brings clarity to the mind and speech and our actions can be guided by the Light of our Soul. Although Neptune is retrograde, the anaretic degree in the sign of Pisces invites us to take the higher route, to learn from the Higher Octave of Venus. We are asked to be compassionate, forgiving and understanding.  We have an opportunity to forgive the past, forgive others and ourselves. We can have a clean slate…

With Mercury in Leo this week, we have a chance to see ourselves as Souls, to learn to play and laugh and dream a new dream. We have an opportunity to awaken our senses to the beauty that is already here.  We have an opportunity to see life with clear eyes, clear mind and clear heart.
