The Current State of Things June 2025
The decision to break diplomacy and bomb Iran came from the United States (I used the transit chart using the time of the moment it was announced on the used NYTimes). According to the announcement, the Sun was in the 29th degree of Gemini. The 29th degree of any sign is an anaretic and karmic degree. It tends to show a spiritual test before we graduate from the lessons brought forth by that sign. Gemini rules brothers and sisters.
Gemini is on the 7th house of the United States Natal Chart, where the Sun was transiting at the moment of impact. I am using the Sibley Natal Chart. The 7th house represents our relationships including open enemies. The United States has Mercury in Cancer (the ruler of Gemini and of the 7th house) which speaks of wanting to be seen as a patriotic nation which protects its people much like a mother would (Cancer). Mercury teaches us about the right use of our mind, speech and interactions with others. Mercury also rules travel, movement and commerce (all of which will be affected by today’s actions).
The United States is having its Mercury Return right now. A Mercury Return gives us an opportunity to check in on how we are using our mind and speech as well as our interactions with others and illustrates how we have to really think about what we are doing and why. The transiting Sun at the 29th degree of Gemini may mean that here may be karmic consequences from the way we are relating to the world around us (our Earth brothers and sisters (Gemini)). Since Mercury rules the 7th house of the United States, it also shows that the United States is redefining its relationships with the world.
The United States is also having its Jupiter Return which happens every 12 years. Jupiter rules it’s Ascendant. Jupiter speaks of the United States being seen through the words “Liberty and Justice for all.” A planetary return provides a Soul (in this case the Soul of the United States) with an opportunity to examine how it wishes to demonstrate the energies on that planet on Earth. The skies mirror our intentions and actions much like the Ancient Maxim states: As above. So below. The stars and planets serve as symbols that mirror the energy of the Earth and its inhabitants.
As the Ascendant ruler of the United States is activated by the Jupiter Return, the question for the US right now seems to be: who are you? who do you want to be? And how do you want others to see you? As the ruler of the 7th house is also activated by the Mercury Return, the question there is: Who do you want to be in relationship with? How do you want to relate to others including with open enemies?
Other factors of interest in the chart right now include Uranus at the 29th degree in Taurus close to the descendant angle of the United States chart, suggesting a sudden, disruptive and unpredictable attack to an open enemy. Also, Jupiter by transit is conjunct the United States’ Venus. Venus rules Saturn in the chart as well as the 11th house (allies, friends and organizations) suggesting there will be allies who may join the fight. This same energetic signature shows how the United States shows up to protect its allies and friends. Saturn in Libra in the 11th house speaks of the United States seeing itself as a protector and Justice bringer to allies and friends. However, Saturn in Aries by transit is slowly approaching an opposition to its Natal Saturn. Saturn in the USA chart rules the 2nd and 3rd houses, suggesting that our neighbors and financial sectors will take an economic hit from this choice. Saturn opposing Saturn may also represent how our perception of reality may contrast that of others in the world. There may be resistance from others to our view of reality and what we want to build and create in the world.
Also, Mars in Virgo by transit activates the USA Venus ruler of the 11th house. Demonstrating the United States making a decisive action (Mars) to protect an ally. However, the South Node in Virgo is conjunct with the USA Neptune. Virgo shows the deep analysis that went into this choice behind the scenes. However, I don’t think they had all the information needed to proceed nor do I think the public will have access to the whole story. Neptune is illusionary. Neptune hides things like fog and creates confusion. In Virgo, the details and information is not clear. The South Node transit also suggests that many in the world will be confused and baffled by these actions.
In addition, Uranus at the 29th degree of Taurus squares the USA Natal Moon which represents its nation (home) and its people (the Nation’s family) suggesting North Americans will feel stress out, worried, anxious and in conflict with the current choice to go to war.
Lastly, Uranus will be going into the United States 7th house in early July of this year and will be paving the way for the Nation’s Uranus return. Uranus in Gemini has coincided with periods of significant conflict, war, and change in U.S. history, including the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and World War II. Here’s some important dates to keep in mind:
Uranus enters Gemini: July 7, 2025.
Retrograde into Taurus: November 7, 2025. (the retrograde period will re-activate the same degrees occurring right now)
Direct in Gemini: April 25, 2026.
Uranus leaves Gemini: May 22, 2033.
The United States Jupiter in Cancer is exalted which means we can be an example to the world of all things Jupiter. Jupiter is in the words “Liberty and Justice for all” but what does that really mean? What does that really look like? That’s the question right now. Will we rise to truly represent Exalted Jupiter? A protective Mother to all in need? Jupiter is a planet representative of God, Divine Justice, Divine Order, Truth, Faith, Religion, abundance and prosperity. It is known in Ancient Astrology as the Greater Benefic. A planet that represents true Goodness and Generosity. In the past, the United States was known for its generosity and brotherhood.
I think it can be easy for a Writer and Astrologer like me to appear to comment or criticize today’s actions by the United States, but I’m not. I don’t think we, the public, have all the information needed to know what’s really going on here (on all sides of the war) nor do we have enough information to know what the right action is to take. I don’t think it’s an easy choice to make to do what was done. I pray for all world leaders to make decisions that help all of humanity and the world entire. What I am simply stating here is how the skies are reflecting back to us our own energy. The Universe is a mirror. Notice what the Universe is mirroring back to us. We are being given an opportunity to take a look in the mirror right now and make choices that are in alignment with who we truly are and who we truly want to become.
Jupiter rules the ascendant of the United States and as Jupiter returns to its Natal Placement we will be asking ourselves as a Nation: who are we really? This is a crisis of identity for the United States and its people. Who are we becoming? Is this who we want to be? Our thoughts, words and actions demonstrate who we are. Is this who we are?
