Part 2 - Solar Eclipse in Libra is Here

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years…”- Genesis 1:14-19

Signs are written in the sky by the Divine. The Universe speaks to us and we have an opportunity to listen.

Eclipses are entry and exit points. During an eclipse doors can close or doors can open. New people, places, situations, circumstances and spiritual lessons may come into our lives through the North Node, and what no longer serves us, exits through the South Node. The eclipse today is a South Nodal eclipse. Something will be leaving our lives in the Libra sector of our Astrological charts between now and the next eclipse next Spring. Notice your placements in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) as these are activated right now.

I’ve written several blogs about the Solar Annular Eclipse in Libra that occurs this week. Please refer to previous blogs for information about this powerful eclipse. Today, I like to speak about the ruler of the Eclipse and the days to follow this Eclipse as it unfolds before us the lessons coming up individually and collectively.

The Ruler of the Eclipse

The ruler of the Eclipse is Venus in Scorpio. Venus is the planet of Love, Money, Peace, pleasure, relationships and partnerships. Venus in Scorpio is in the astrological dignity of fall. This means that Venus has a lot difficulty expressing its natural Venusian energies in the sign of Scorpio.

Venus in Scorpio is intense, focused, dedicated and passionate. When a person with Venus in Scorpio wants something, they will not stop until they get it. They focus on the finish line and commit to reaching their goal. Why is this energy Venus’ fall? Well, Venus likes to socialize, have fun, live in the moment, enjoy the pleasures of life and love for the sake of love. Venus in Scorpio is focused, driven, loyal and dedicated to what it loves. It doesn’t like to waste time in idle pursuits. Venus is Scorpio is ruled by Mars. Mars is a passionate warrior. It needs something to fight for. It needs a goal to reach. That’s exactly what Venus in Scorpio does. Venus in Scorpio fights for what it wants. Its an intense, desire-driven sign.

I was once told that a Scorpion, the animal, will turn its poisonous tail onto itself when cornered in a fight. It will rather harm itself than let its enemy harm it. Venus in Scorpio also speaks of pride. While Venus is in Scorpio we need to watch for pride and desire getting the best of us.

Venus in Scorpio is teaching us to understand our desires, drives and passions and not let them consume us. Instead, we are asked to focus on softening our hearts and manage our desires, goals and passions in ways that are balanced and workable. Venus in Scorpio leads with the heart and is very passionate about it. However,the upcoming water trines to Saturn and Mars will help us balance the intensity with softness, flexibility and adaptability to change.

Venus Trines Saturn and Mars

Venus in Scorpio is applying into a trine with Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer. From October 2nd to October 5th, we will be feeling the applying water trine of Venus and Saturn. Notice any placements you have in Scorpio, Taurus, Pisces, Virgo, Cancer, Capricorn, Libra and Aries as these are activated by the upcoming water trines. Venus will also trine Mars in Cancer from October 6th  through October 9th, but more on that later.

These water trines will speak to us in regard to what the Libra Eclipse means for us individually and collectively. Notice your relationships and partnerships. Notice your money and financial life. Notice the state of peace and harmony in your life.

Venus trine (harmonious, flowing energy) Saturn speaks of building solid, steady foundations in Love, Peace and Money. However, Saturn is in a water sign, so the foundations and boundaries we are creating will be fluid and permeable, so we are asked to be flexible and adaptable to our circumstances. Venus trine Saturn speaks of creating healthy boundaries in our relationships and partnerships. It speaks of building something that stands the test of time. What stands the test of time for you? Venus trine Saturn speaks of practicing peace and diplomacy in a way that works. We are creating new, stable foundations and commitments in the areas of love, money and the ways we relate to others.

Saturn also teaches us about the Law of Cause and Effect, Time, Death and the Law of Karma. Notice the lessons showing up in your life. We are learning valuable spiritual lessons in the areas of relationships, partnerships, love, self-worth and money.  We are learning the true value of these areas in our lives. We are learning about what is not working, what is working and what needs to be restructured. Saturn teaches us to grow up and mature. We mature and become wiser in the areas that Saturn travels through, notice your Pisces and Virgo axis, as those are active right now. You are asked to mature and become wiser in this area of your life.

Venus trine Saturn essentially is asking us, what do you want to grow in the garden of your life? What have you planted in your life and how is the fruit of that plant showing up in your life? Do you like what you planted? If not, its time to replant. It’s time to pick up the crop, be grateful for that crop and determine what crop you will plant next. Saturn and Venus are helping us to create and manifest in our lives. This Solar Eclipse is a new Moon phase, an opportunity to plant a new seed. What seed will you plant now? Now, that you have learned. Now, that you are wiser. It’s time to make a choice. It’s time to decide. What will you grow next? Pay attention to the signs. Pay attention to your life, your heart and your mind. The sky is speaking to us. It’s time.
