Winter Solstice 2024

Mercury is no longer retrograde. Mercury rules movement, travel, communication and the mind. Mercury will activate the Jupiter-Saturn Square as it perfects next week. The square perfects on Tuesday but we are already feeling it and will feel it all through the end of the year. Mercury will activate the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of late 2020 in a square on Thursday and Friday next week. Pay attention to what comes up for you in your life and in your mind-heart space this weekend and into next week. Important insights, revelations and opportunities for movement forward will be available for us as the energies unravel in our lives.

The Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn occurred on December 21st 2020, around the time of the pandemic. Think back to that time in your life. What seeds did you plant then? What new ideas, goals, plans did you set in motion? What themes, issues, obstacles, opportunities and spiritual lessons were occurring in your life then? Notice how that is playing out in your life now.

Sometimes new beginnings start in our minds and hearts. It can begin as a thought, an idea, a secret dream, a deep desire or a wish …then that thought becomes more…maybe you start talking about it…maybe you start researching or reading about it…and then next thing you know it becomes a road ahead of you and you have stepped into a new threshold. It’s like a snowball effect. What began in late 2020 is now snowballing down the mountain of our lives both collectively and individually.

Saturn in Ancient Astrology was the last planet visible to the eye, it stood at the threshold between the known and unknown world. Saturn is a threshold Guardian. Saturn rules time and reality. Check in on your thresholds. Where in your life are you standing on a threshold? Notice what doors you are opening and which you are closing. Notice where in your life are you having to make a final decision? Jupiter in Ancient Astrology is a significator of God, Truth, Justice, Law and the King/Queen of the land. Somewhere in our lives our eyes are open. Somewhere in our lives we are asked to live from a deeper truth. Jupiter is giving us insights. Both planets are squared to each other on the dates below:

The opening square occurred on August 19, 2024: Jupiter will be at 17° Gemini, while Saturn will be at 17° Pisces. Notice what came up for you in the summer of 2024.

The second square will occur on December 24, 2024: Jupiter will be at 14° Gemini, while Saturn will be at 14° Pisces

The third square will occur on June 15, 2025: Jupiter will be at 1° Cancer, while Saturn will be at 1° Aries

When squares occur, there is tension and pressure in the air, there is powerful energy building up and we may want to push, pull, or force things to happen. We seek and want change. We may feel as if we are pushing against life or someone or something. But in reality the push is always against ourselves. Against our perceptions…against our own mind and heart. Squares are the growing pains of being human. Squares are the forces that help us grow and become more than what we are. Pressure and tension helps us grow, mature and become better versions of ourselves.  

The square between Jupiter and Saturn will be triggered by Mercury, the Messenger of God in Astrology, next week. Mercury is knocking at our door, asking what have you done with your life since late 2020? Where are you in regards to your goals, dreams, desires and purpose? Did you learn the spiritual lessons you were given then? Jupiter wants to expand and grow and Saturn wants to make sure the reality we are creating for ourselves makes sense. Saturn creates concrete, solid, mature and stable foundations in our lives. Saturn rules time and the use of our time on Earth. Jupiter rules truth and is asking us to be true to who we are and what we want. As Mercury triggers the square, we are reminded that the clock of life is forever ticking. Mercury reminds us that our time on Earth is valuable and that we are here for a reason. What is your reason? Jupiter and Saturn are asking us to notice what we are creating and manifesting in our lives. We are asked to conciously create and manifest our lives.

Today is the Winter Solstice, the longest and darkest night of the year. The dark is fertile ground. It is the womb where the baby grows. It is the dark soil where the seed becomes a sprout. It is in the dark that we can find our Light. It is in silence that we find our true voice. We are in the center of the dark today. Take a moment to go within and close your eyes. Find the beaming Light at the center of your heart. Find the voice of your Soul within you and listen. Life is calling your Light forward. Let the Light of your Soul shine onto the world in every thought, word and action.

Tomorrow, the Light of the Sun will lead the days to become longer and the nights to become shorter again. And just like that another cycle begins…. around and around we continue to go on the wheel of Life. Until we realize we can walk the path ahead of us differently. We can be awake to every step along the journey. We can take conscious steps forward as another year comes to an end. We can consciously create and manifest our lives with the insights of our Soul and the Divine. We can listen within and be lead.

The Universe is forever encouraging us as the wheel of life turns, how will you walk through life this time around? Today, place an intention in your heart and watch the seed grow through the year. Life is calling you to participate consciously and willingly. It’s time to show up and be all that you can be.
